This interactive powerpoint lesson is designed to be used with a 9th grade English class. The powerpoint lesson is an introductory lesson on the author, Maya Angelou. The general objective of the powerpoint is to introduce the freshman to Angelou before reading her books and poems. The goal is to familiarize them with Angelou and her writing style and content, so that they feel ready to engage in her literary works by understanding some background information about her. This powerpoint can be used in class as a precursor to reading Angelou's work.
